TB Skin Test
$99.00
The Tuberculin Skin Test (TST), also known as the
Mantoux test, is a common medical procedure for tuberculosis (TB) screening.
During the test, a small amount of tuberculin solution is injected just beneath
the skin on the forearm. After 48 to 72 hours, a healthcare provider examines
the test site. If a raised, red bump or swelling is present, its size is
measured in millimeters. A negative result typically shows no bump or a small
one (usually 5-10mm). A larger bump suggests a positive result, indicating potential
exposure to TB. Further evaluation may be needed to confirm active TB
infection.
