Oral Fluid Drug Testing
An oral fluid test is the least invasive test available. In an oral fluid drug test, oral fluids are collected from the inside of the mouth. The results are then tested for the presence of numerous drugs including alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, opiates such as heroin and prescription medications, amphetamines, and methamphetamines. These tests can detect drugs almost immediately after use, and up to one to two days later. Oral fluid drug testing cannot be adulterated or substituted, making for an easy collection process and reliable results.
Urine Drug Testing
A urine drug test is typically performed in order to test for drugs such as opioids, PCP, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, benzodiazepines, and more. Urine tests cannot always be used for early detection. In most cases, they cannot detect any drugs that were used within the last four to six hours. The detection period typically ends about three days after the drug was most recently used.
Nail Drug Testing
A nail drug test is an excellent way to detect a history of drug use. Results typically offer a window into the employee’s drug habits going back six months to a year. When a hair test cannot be completed, nail drug testing is typically done. The results are just as reliable. Nail testing can detect a wide range of illicit drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, and opiates.
Hair Drug Testing
A hair drug test analyzes the hair shaft of the individual. These results are very reliable, as it is difficult for an employee to tamper with a hair sample. A hair test can detect a wide range of drugs as well, including marijuana, opiates, methamphetamine, heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, and phencyclidine. Hair drug tests typically detect drug use within the last 90 days or more.
