Drug-Facilitated Assault
(Date Rape) Testing Panel
Forensic Blood Testing: If
you believe you may have been drugged, sexually assaulted, or unknowingly given
a drug, this comprehensive forensic panel screens for many of the substances
commonly used in drug-facilitated crimes, as well as prescription medications,
illicit drugs, alcohol, and sedatives.
Recommendation: Whenever
possible, collect BOTH blood and urine. Using both specimens provides the
highest likelihood of detecting substances used in drug-facilitated crimes.
-
Blood
is best for documenting recent ingestion and impairment. -
Urine
extends the detection window after drugs have left the bloodstream. -
Together,
they provide the most comprehensive forensic evaluation and maximize the
chance of identifying drugs that may have been used.
Blood Test
- Best if the suspected drugging occurred
within the past 24 hours. - Blood testing detects drugs that are actively
circulating in your body and is the preferred specimen for documenting recent
exposure and possible impairment. Some drugs—particularly GHB, alcohol, and
certain sedatives—disappear from the bloodstream very quickly, making prompt
collection important. - Ideal collection: As soon as possible,
preferably within 6–24 hours.
Average Turnaround Time:
Approximately 15 days (90% of results were reported within 21 days).
